Mike Kilmer

Mike has 38 years of tax and business advisory experience, He understands the challenges of operating a business and uses this real life experience to assist clients with the opportunities and challenges they face. In addition to possessing the expertise and technical skills required by the profession, he takes time to listen to clients concerns and communicates with straight talk in an understandable way. By combining technical expertise and real life experiences, Mike is able to assist clients with solving their problems and complying with regulatory requirements. Mike earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Shepherd University in 1987 and became a licensed Certified Public Accountant in 1989. He is a member of Fellowship Bible Church, has been a member of several civic clubs and served as board members on various not-for-profit organizations. Professional associations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) and National Association of Certified Valuation Analysis (NACVA). Outside of work Mike enjoys hiking, landscaping, reading, and spending time with his wife, Cathie, his children, and grandchildren.

Jake Skeith is a principal at Archer Lewis, specializing in tax and accounting services with more than five years of experience advising individuals and businesses. He provides strategic tax-saving guidance, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and helps clients maintain clean accounting records. Jake also develops internal workflows, supports clients through IRS correspondence and audits, and assists in entity structure decisions to align with long-term business goals. Heather Laurent

Heather Laurent is a principal of Kilmer & Associates, LLC, a Winchester, Virginia branch of the Archer Lewis team. Heather has over 10 years of accounting experience and over 2 years of management experience. She strives to maintain close professional relationships with all her clients while providing exceptional services in the following areas: advisory and consulting, strategic tax planning, financial report analysis, business valuation, accounting procedure implementations, estate and trust planning collaboration alongside local attorneys, tax return preparation and review, as well as IRS and state correspondence/notice resolution. Heather likes working with small and medium sized businesses and loves seeing the success of a small business as it grows. She has a heart for the senior community and specializes in that area whether it is helping an elderly client or their family with the growing tax, trust, or estate pains.
